The Director, Media and Corporate Communications of NASRDA Dr. Felix Ale, gave the commendation during the departmental meeting to inaugurate the new units and their heads at the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Ale explained that with what the Director General has done, efforts has been made to reorganize the department in order to make it functional and actualize its expected objectives in line with what is obtainable in any strategic organization like NASRDA not only in Nigeria but across the globe.
He expressed appreciation to the entire management of the Agency for the support and cooperation given to the Director General in the actualization of his noble dreams and goals for the overall development of the Agency.
Dr. Ale said the crucial role that effective media management plays in promoting the Agency’ objectives and raising public awareness about space research and exploration cannot be over emphasized.
The Media Guru who emphasized the importance of robust media engagement in the field of space science and its significant impact on public perception, underscored the vital role of the media in today’s society and the responsibility the department bears in shaping public opinion about the activities of NASRDA.
Dr. Ale said that all other media units across the various Centres and Laboratories of the agency will henceforth be called Media and Publicity unit, stating that all media staff of the respective centres and Labs are under the supervision of the Media and Corporate communication department.
He added that in a situation where there are no Media units, an officer designated to carry out such functions should be addressed as a Media Officer.
The NASRDA Spokesman further advised the team to focus on what the directors are doing at the centers and laboratories for effective publicity through the department of Media and Corporate Communications at the headquarters.
While inaugurating the Editorial team, he charged them to see this as a wakeup call saying that to whom much is given, much is expected.
He urged them to map out strategies on how to produce the new edition of the Space Digest magazine which is expected to be an improvement on the previous editions.
Emphasizing on the power of unity and the pivotal role it plays in achieving excellence in journalism, Dr. Ale urged the media team to bring their expertise to bear to strategically project the activities of the space agency as a tool for National development.
