In a bid to propagate the significance of capacity building in the activities of the Space Agency, the Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Halilu Shaba has expressed the need for continuous training for Space scientists and engineers, to enable sustainability for maximum result on Space-based projects.
He made this statement while receiving a team from Gets Systems Limited, at the NASRDA Headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Shaba while appreciating the team for their visit, emphasized the importance of education in research particularly in the area of technology, stressing that Science and Engineering practice is evolving globally, therefore Nigeria must not be left behind.
He further explained the Agency’s receptiveness towards solution-driven organizations who have identified mutually beneficial areas of collaboration with the Space Agency towards the realization of its mandate.
The NASRDA boss while reacting to the presentation made by the team, reiterated the Agency’s commitment towards fulfilling its mandate, adding that the proposed partnership, once finalized will afford both parties the opportunity to share ideas and resources, adding that tests and results of the proposed technology should be examined, so it can be improved upon.
In his remarks and technical presentations, the President and CEO of Gets Systems Yossi Akavian who appreciated the DG for his warm reception and hospitality, outlined the various contributions and partnerships their company has enjoyed so far and pledged their utmost interest in collaborating with the Agency especially in the development of local content.
He expressed the willingness of Gets Systems Limited to collaborate with the Space Agency and locate a manufacturing plant for radar systems within the campus, for assembling integrating and testing radar equipment with special emphasis on Transfer of Technology to our engineers and scientists.
Yossi further explained that the Company considers NASRDA as family and is determined to solidify the proposed partnership which will foster a successful working relationship for the benefit of both parties and their respective countries.
GETS Systems Limited, is a multi-disciplined system design company for military and civil applications, and it develops, produces and markets several product lines for operational and testing purposes.
