The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Halilu Ahmad Shaba has described the media as an intrinsic agent, vital to the dissemination of information, bordering the activities and achievement of the Space Agency.
He made this statement at the Headquarters of NASRDA in Abuja, during the unveiling of the ‘NASRDA Space Digest’, a publication containing the giant strides of the agency.
Dr. Shaba expressed his delight in the quality of work done on the publication, stating that the body of work can comfortably rival other publications of international standard in terms of content and class.
The NASRDA Boss further showered accolades on the Media and Corporate Communication department for the level of tenacity and hard work displayed by members of the unit towards the production of the Magazine.
He added that the media unit is deserving of being converted into a Centre because of the integral role it plays as a connecting agent between the Agency and the general public and promised the full support of the agency to bring the Media Centre to bear.
Also in attendance, the Vice Chancellor, Bowen University, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole congratulated the DG and the Head of Media and Corporate Communications of the Agency for this great achievement and advised that the magazine should be posted on the Agency’s website for easy accessibility by all.
He further appreciated the DG for his leadership qualities, saying that Bowen University is privileged to work with an organisation that has a worthy leader at the helm of affairs, and applauded him for giving hope to young people while calling on the NASRDA team to emulate the DG’s virtue to drive the Agency to greater heights.
While responding to the remarks of the DG, the Head, Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale, gave full credit to the NASRDA Boss for perpetually supporting and motivating the activities of the media unit with the needed resources and words of affirmation and pledged the soon-to-be Centre’s doggedness towards discharging its activities.
The highlight of the event was the adulation of the NASRDA Space Digest by the top management staff of the Agency. Each Director called it an excellent job and relayed their gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the success of the Digest.
