The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency and Grand Patron of NASRDA Cooperative, Dr. Halilu Ahmad Shaba has charged the new executives of Nasrda Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited to work as a team in order to achieve the society’s set goals.
The Director General who was represented by the Head, Legal Services of the Agency, Barr. Isa Yahaya gave the charge during the Handover Ceremony of the Cooperative executive committee as the mantle of leadership moved to new hands.
Dr. Shaba stressed that the guarantee to achieving meaningful results is on the altar of effective synergy which allows for inclusiveness especially in formulating policies that will move the society to greater heights.
He further encouraged them to adopt an open door policy where members of the society can make meaningful contributions and constructive criticism in a bid to actualizing the mandate of the society. During his handover speech, the outgoing president, Dr. Chika Onouha expressed his gratitude to the members of the society for their cooperation during his administration while congratulating the incoming president and pledging his support to the new executive committee.
In his remarks the newly elected President of the Society, Dr. Abdul Jibrin expressed his appreciation to the members of the society for the overwhelming support and confidence reposed in him to deliver. He further promised to work with his team to ensure accountability and honesty in discharging their duties.
The newly elected members of the executive committee were elected in a keenly contested election earlier in the week. The elections which was conducted by the electoral committee led by Dr John Mommoh as Chairman was adjudged free and fair, and well organized.
Also, penultimate in the series of activities was the presentation of the Certificate of Return to the newly elected Executive Committee members by the Director General of NASRDA, and Grand Patron of the Cooperative who was represented by the Director Ground station and Mission Control Dr Halidu Ibrahim.
He charged the newly elected officials to be determined and efficient in discharging the duties for the collective benefit of the members.
In his remark the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee Dr. Haruna Mohammed advised the incoming Exco to build upon previous successes and elevate the cooperative for the benefit of all.
